Last Saturday, May 12th, BTT Boston held a seminar with Master Murilo Bustamante and UFC Fighter Rousimar "Toquinho" Palhares.

The gym was full of students ready to learn some techniques from the leg lock master and once again Palhares demonstrated a lot of patience while teaching his famous positions.

At the end of the event, Prof. Daniel Gazoni received his 3rd Degree from Prof. João Amaral. Well deserved, Prof. Gazoni has been always present and is one of the most technical instructors of the East Coast.

Combat Zone 41 was held at Rockingham Racetrack, our affiliate school Spero's Martial Arts had one of their own 135 lb. fighters making his debut against a battle tested, undefeated fighter by the name of Heath England (2-0).

Francisco Lopez has been training with Team Pitbull (Spero's) for about 6 months now and has never competed in any type of martial arts prior to the event.

When the opening bell sounded it was Lopez who looked like the more experienced fighter, picking apart England with punches, kicks and stuffing the takedown when needed. At one point, Lopez was in trouble by way of a deep rear naked choke.

Lopez weathered the storm and escaped finding himself on top.

With only 10 seconds left in the round, Lopez fired of two punches that found their way to his opponants chin and left the battered England completely unconcious!

Team Pitbull/ BTT with the win at 2:59 rnd 1 and Francisco finds himself winning the knockout of the night award!

"I would like to thank my teammates at Spero's and BTT." said Lopez, "I am honored to represent them."

Last weekend the IBJJF hosted the New York Open Jiu Jitsu 2012, since the first edition in 2009 the tournament is growing every year and the Brazilian Top Team Competition Team is always present.

This time every single athlete bought a piece of hardware home.

3 gold medals: Brian Vizarreta (White-juvenil feather), Jaime Santana (Blue Belt-male) and Nathalia Azoff (Purple medium).

Silver medal: Roberto Amaral (White Super heavy) and 2 bronze, Bruno Amaral (Black Belt Adult) and Brian Caldwell (Black Belt Senior heavy).

Congrats to everyone, this is a result of a great team work!

BTT Boston Affiliated school, Team Woo MMA, has a new house.

Last saturday Prof. Daniel Gazoni and some students from BTT Boston HQ went to Prof. Roger Woo's new place in Londonderry New Hampshire.

Great place, great atmosphere to learn martial arts. Prof. Roger is a legit Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Prof. Joao Amaral and Prof. Daniel Gazoni, please check it out the place!

The Mass BJJ Federation held the Caxcudo World Cup 2012 last sunday march 18th at the Milford, MA High School.

Brazilian Top Team send some competitors and had a good results overall.

The Highligh of the tournament was the Purple Belt Challenge, between Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Carlos "Peixe" Fernandes represented BTT and won his fight via choke.

Congrats to all and once again great coaching by Prof. Daniel Gazoni.

Last weekend Renan Borges, Brazilian Top Team Black Belt, did such a great job playing his game against some of the best grapplers in the world in New York City.

The Ultimate Absolute is a 16 men tournament competing for a U$ 10,000 cash prize plus a U$ 1,000 submission bonus.

First round Renan won by 5 x 0 against multiple time bjj world champion Bruno Malfacine and in the second round he defeated Wilson Reis (bjj world champ and Bellator fighter) by 9 X2.

Celsinho Vinicius stopped Renan in the semi but he finished the tournament in 3rd place.

Great job by Renan and great coaching by Daniel Gazoni (BTT Boston head coach).
